That’s fucking cruel

This isn’t fucking funny. My mom has been a waitress almost all of my life and for most of it we lived off of scraps. She worked hard every damn day being paid less than minimum wage to help raise us four kids. All of our meals, all of our clothing, all of our school books, our fucking rent was always paid by tips. Some weeks were better than others but we learned how to make our dimes stretch and now she is doing better, with a manager position where things are more stable for her.
Bakc to the point, don’t any of you ever, EVER FUCKING DO THIS. SPREADING THE WORD OF YOUR RELIGION IS FINE AND DANDY BUT DON’T TO IT AT THE COST OF A SINGLE MOTHER NOT BEING ABLE TO FEED HERSELF SO HER KIDS CAN HAVE A PLACE TO SLEEP AT NIGHT.

When Christians act like little fucks

I have had online discussions with the people who think this is in any way okay, and boy, was that frustrating.

One of my friends had a lovely solution to the thing where people offer you things like this: Don’t unfold it, don’t even look at it, just put it in your pocket and thank them profusely, explaining how you didn’t know where your next meal was coming from and you’d been praying, and God must have heard them because now you can buy food for your kids.

I’m not a waiter nor do I work for tips. I’m a short order cook/deli worker; basically I cook a lot of fried food and pizzas for truck drivers and travelers. I really don’t make much but I’m thankful to be working even if the job is hard and very stressful. Sometimes if I don’t hear someone call for food I walk up to the hot case and look to see what could use topping off or is about to time out. There is a a group of well dressed mid teenage boys standing as a group next to the case and on the floor  by their feet is what I thought was a $50 dollar bill. It was during the 4th of July rush and we have been slammed with a lot of travelers. A lot of them are very well off. So in my mind I see this rumpled wad of a $50 bill and I see these kids and think that one of them irresponsibly dropped it. Being a quasi decent person pick it up, to return it to its owner as it’s not my money and someone would be very upset to lose $50, and say “I think one of you dropped this” and as soon as I have it in my hand I see its one of these “Jesus loves you!” fake dollars. They’ve really stepped up the asshole game and made $50 versions. I’ve read this post before and it instantly makes me angry. These kids just stare at me, kinda slacked jawed, wondering what my reactions going to be. My reaction is “Oh, never mind, it’s fake,” and I slap it on top of my hot case and  turn to leave. I really don’t care to know which of these “good christian” kids picks it back up. About 45 minutes later I find the same Jesus loves you $50 on the floor in the one of the aisles. I hand it to my closing manager, and it’s thrown away. They think this is a good way of spreading the word of God by giving these as tips or dropping them on the ground for people to find. Bullshit. I’ve had to tell people we can’t take their EBT cards or food stamps (company wont allow it) on a near daily basis when I was a cashier. This is a cruel and hateful trick and they should feel ashamed.
